Welcome to the Safer Penzance Partnership Disc system
This is a partnership between Penzance Business Improvement District, Devon and Cornwall Police, Penzance Town Council, and Cornwall Council. The Safer Penzance partnership brings together businesses, the police, outreach agencies and local authorities to make Penzance a safer place to visit, shop, and work.
Preventing crime and anti-social behaviour within our businesses and communities is a shared goal between the police and local authorities. As demands on all our resources grows, this service can complement and improve on what is already happening. By working together, we can share our resources. Our aim is to empower businesses within the Penzance BID area to work together as a formidable partnership and make Penzance a safer place for all our businesses, staff, customers and communities.
The Safer Penzance partnership provides public area CCTV, Shopwatch radios and DISC database in order to share intelligence, manage banning schemes efficiently, enhance security awareness, increase engagement levels, communicate with members and provide a link to Police and other DISC users. The aim is to help deter and prevent crimes like shoplifting, theft, violence and disorder and to create safer shopping and business environments for both the day and night-time economies.
