Rhonda Cynon-Taff & Merthyr Tydfil Business Crime Reduction Partnership (RCTBCRP) was created in September 2005 to tackle the problems of Aberdare Town Centre crime.
Since then it has evolved and expanded from the Cynon Valley Business Crime Partnership into an excellent example of how a community can reduce town centre crime through positive proactive policing and partnership work throughout the RCT & Merthyr Tydfil County Boroughs.
A business crime reduction partnership will help to reduce crime in the area and improve safety for businesses, visitors and residents in the borough.
It is estimated that it cost nationally £613 million in retail theft in 2015 and most of all recorded crime takes place in and around Town Centres. These statistics are bad for investment and employment if not addressed, resulting in a downward cycle of Town Centre degeneration.
Crime and fear of crime has a negative effect on the quality and use of our Town Centres and this is why we are taking action to ensure we remain safe and secure for everyone.
